    I started HEMA about two years ago in St. Louis, Missouri. We don’t have any large schools here, but ours keeps growing. None of us have access to equipment without long wait times, and after a disappointing Regenyei order (the two handed feder is great – the sidesword not so much) last year I took some time scoping out my next blacksmith. I met Tyler Locke at a tournament who showed his Castille blades to me, but our instructor uses an Albion Marozzo which is flawless. After much anguish (and a number of emails to Castille staff who were always gracious) I pulled the trigger on Castille. They got the blade to me FASTER than their estimated hold time (Albion was at 9-10 months), and with multiple upgrades (polished, leather/wire grip, blade with fuller, spatulated, etc.) it was still $50 less even after shipping! This thing has excellent balance, it looks great (“shiny” says the lady in class), and it continually provides a very satisfying swoosh to my plays. Another student ordered a base model which feels great and was nearly $200 less than mine, and yet another student just entered a custom order.
