    A note on thread size: M6 is smaller threading than M8. Typically things like rapiers, daggers, and dueling sabres will use M6 thread. Heavy daggers, long swords, feders, and basket hilts will typically have M8.

Description

Our scent stopper profile pommel is elegantly hand turned to match the specifications of the scent stopper profile pommels commonly found on rapiers and other swords of the Renaissance period. We offer it with M6x1.0 or M8x1.25 thread. Its total weight is 8.0 oz. We offer 3 finishes as well: “Bright”, a bright antiqued satin metal finish. “Blued”, a heat blued finish. Naturally darker, more durable and rust prohibitive than chemical bluing. Finally, “Polished”, a bright shiny deep polish that provides the best rust resistance and detail preservation.

Scent stopper profile pommels were very common on swords and daggers of all kinds throughout the Middle Ages and on through the Napoleonic era.
