Our Simple Dueling Saber is a mix of different styles as often seen with antiques of the Victorian era. These boast our tough and reliable 16mm and 20mm BBS dueling saber blades but with the recent upgrade of a much stronger, oversized and reinforced tang with no welded thread. Both blades follow Radaelli’s definitive specifications for curve on the best saber blades of the era and are only offered in F3 flex. The guard is a fairly common “Horstmann” style- a Radaelli without the ring. The guard is made from .050 4130 and is heat treated in-house and tempered to 50 RwC! It is literally bulletproof and I can prove it! We added a hardened free floating bolster from the same material to add strength where the forte of the blade meets the guard. The grip is something a little different to keep strong alignment easy: a Mensur style with a deep thumb cradle, ergonomic contour and a deep back. The whole thing is held together by a grade 8 M6 threaded recessed pin that requires a 4mm hex wrench.
