A Side Sword should flow in the cut, have plenty of blade presence, have a nimble with tip and be comfortable to wield. This was our goal in design, and then, we made it affordable! Like all of our sword products, these are cut, ground, and assembled in our little plant in Southern Oregon. We use our proprietary specialty 5160 blue temper steel for our Economy Side Sword Blades from mills here in the U.S. We get certs for all of our material to ensure the only the best materials are being used. We have spent the last year developing ways to cut manufacturing costs while maintaining the quality everyone expects from us here at Castille.
We have not only hit this mark, we have been able to develop a new standard in the industry. We have increased the toughness of our economy products, made the parts handle better than before and achieved a price point that makes these products the absolute go to for those on a budget…or not!
We offer these Economy Side Sword Blades in lengths of 34″, 37″ and 40″ to give those just starting out some options based on a particular curriculum or physical attributes. These blades are only offered in our F3 flex as it has become the universal standard for both SCA and HEMA combat.
The guard is a traditional build with ample hand protection that can fit a large glove, consisting of front ports OR front ports and full rings over the knuckles, straight quillons and a stout knuckle bow.
This build gets our normal black PLA 3.5″ grip and our Small ball pommel all in a bright finish and M6 threads.
These parts are compatible with all of our Rapier parts as well.
