Colichemarde Blade
Our Colichemarde blade is the toughest small sword blade on the market. It’s quick and nimble without being fragile or taking sets easily like a lot of epee blades on the market. In fact this blade will do just fine against much heavier swords and that is just what they were meant for historically. This blade is made from .125 blue temper 5160 spring steel and is tempered to 50 HRC. These blades are polished to a bright finish. This blade is strategically ground to have a triangular cross section from the point where the wide rigid forte starts to taper toward the foible. The flex is equal that of a solid epee in the last 3rd but is quite rigid along the forte and medio. This makes it’s handling extremely quick and accurate.
This blade is offered in a length of 32″ measured from the tang shoulder to the tip. The tang is a set length of 6.5″ long to fit most conventional hardware meant to accept epee and musketeer blades. The thread is soft enough to easily cut to length with a hacksaw or Dremel.
This blade is offered with a rounded nail head tip as is conventional with all epee, foil and musketeer blades. our #1 size safety tip fits these blades perfectly
