1796 Artillery Saber

This Saber build is part of the next generation of products that will be applied to our retail partners program but for the time being you can get it directly from us here!

The iconic 1796 model saber has a deep lineage and a prestigious history. Often referred to as the “Wrist breaker” because of its heft and forward weight, the 1796 model saber delivered a strong cut from horse back but could be wielded from foot just as well. Our version is similar in form and function to the many historical regional versions but we’ve added a bit of detail to our to make it distinct. The guard is metal 3d printed in stainless steel and is reinforced in the places where it is destined to take the most abuse. It is large enough to fit a large glove or clamshell mitten without being bulky or cumbersome. The grip is a true stainless steel backstrap/ferrule design with a PTEG grip insert that is contoured and comfortable in the hand. The assembly is held together by a hardened M6 recessed pin that requires a 4mm hex wrench.

The blade is our 33″ (83.8cm) long “BBS” 1095 steel 25mm artillery saber design with a 2″ belly depth. Flex is offered at stiff F3 target flex of 18.5lb (8.4kg) for safe yet responsive sparring. We only offer normal tips for these complete builds. A #3 size Castille safety tip can be added to the order. The total weight is 1.75 lbs (800gr) and the pob is 5″ (12.7cm) from the front of the guard.

We’ve applied decades of experience into these next gen products in order to make them affordable legacy products for every level of competition. We’re so proud of these, we are offering a limited LIFETIME warranty on the guard, grip, pommel and the BBS blades.
