Economy Rapier Blades
Our Economy Rapier Blade is our toughest most economical rapier blade to date and is absolutely the best handling and most nimble rapier blade on the market for the price. This blade is made from .125 blue temper 5160 spring steel and is tempered to 50 HRC. These blades are polished to a bright finish and have added “scale” tang sides to make them fit accurately into our normal .25 guard slot. So, yes, these blades will fit any of our normal offered rapier hardware, or anything that has a 1/4″ X 1/2″ slot! These blades are flat ground but still have a distal taper. This allows them to have a linear flex centered in the tip third of the blade.
These blades are offered in blade lengths of 38″, 40 and 42″ measured from the tang shoulder to the tip. On a rapier, this measurement would include the ricasso section.
We offer these blades with in our universal safe flex for HEMA and SCA of F3. Compliant to SCA Rapier calibration. 1.5″ – 2″ drop @ 6 oz. (170 gr.). Recommended flex for SCA, WMA and HEMA Rapier armored combat.
The blades are only offered with a normal rounded tip and M6 thread cut directly on the stock.
